Nitrous acid content distinctly lower than the reading taken on a road surfaced only with asphalt, showing a high level of photocatalytic oxidation.

Observations on EcoRivestimento:
- “… laboratory experiments and theoretical estimates thus demonstrate the possibility of the practical use of the properties of the photocatalysing element to reduce the concentration of many pollutants in the environment by the use of surfaces containing this compound …”
- “… these results indicate that even in conditions different from those employed in the laboratory, such as those of the real environment, a reasonable effectiveness may be achieved …
- “… lastly, it must be considered that a system of the photocatalytic type, using solar radiation and an appropriate surface coating, which does not require any power besides solar energy, is of particular interest precisely because of its passive nature and simplicity …”
(Excerpt from a report by the Higher Institute of Health, Ref. No. 35/4A of 11/4/2003)

“… EcoRivestimento is a means which in a simple and direct manner, without any particular technological operation, can provide a major contribution to the solution of the problem of air pollution in large urban areas … From the quantitative data collected during a series of experiments, it has been proved that EcoRivestimento has a very high capacity for purification … The use of EcoRivestimento does not harm the environment and has no side effects …"

The Ti02 photocatalyst can eliminate household odors through contact with sunlight, flourescent and regular house lights. Odor created by common organic compounds such as acetaldehyde, anemone, trimethylamin, hydrogen-sulphide and methyl-melcaptan are decomposed by the Ti02 photocatalyst. Even minimal amounts of these elements are recognisable by human smell. In particular, acetaldehyde, responsible for the smell associated with tobacco smoke, is decomposed effectively by the Ti02 photocatalyst to reduce odor.
